Can I connect to my mailbox with a secure connection?

Yes, mail connections for all protocols with SSL encryption are supported. The ports for this are:

POP3: 995
IMAP: 993
SMTP: 465

You should choose the option in your mail client to use secure password authentication when using a secure connection.

It is expected that a warning will be given when making a secure connection which is addressed in the support database article Why do I see an SSL warning when connecting to my mailbox with a mail client?.
If your mail client has an option to accept any certificate then select that and the error will then go away.
